How it works
1 · Pick the upgrades
Each round shows a weak prompt — "write a story", "plan my trip". Choose the pieces that would genuinely improve it. Some cards are traps: they sound helpful and cost you a point.
2 · Watch the rebuild
Hit Repair it and watch the weak prompt rebuild into a strong one, piece by piece. Your picks are marked; the ones you missed are marked too.
3 · Read the why
Compare the before-and-after answers the two prompts would get, then read a short plain-English explanation of why the repair works. Ten rounds, four points each.
Under the hood
What this teaches
Good prompts have four ingredients. A clear goal (what you want made), context (who it's for and why), constraints (length, tone, limits), and a defined output (bullets, an email, code). Every repair in this game is those four pieces snapping into place.
Vague in, vague out. An AI doesn't know your situation unless you tell it. "Help with my math homework" forces the AI to interrogate you; "walk me through 2x + 5 = 17, I'm stuck isolating the variable" gets tutoring on the first reply. Specificity isn't politeness — it's the actual mechanism.
There's no perfect prompt. The right mix depends on the task — a bedtime story and a bug report need different ingredients. But goal + context + constraints + output is a checklist that rarely hurts, and spotting trap instructions ("sound smart", "be creative" with no bounds) is a skill that transfers to every AI tool you'll ever use.
